Brunico Val Pusteria



Brunico (German Bruneck, Ladin Bornech) is one of the seven South Tyrolean medieval cities, the most important city of Val Pusteria South Tyrol. It´s famous for being the "young people city" par excellence and…the wealthiest people home in South Tyrol! The nearby mountain resort of Riscone is one of the most important on the Plan de Corones, one of the best ski zones in South Tyrol. The Plan de Corones is also part of the famous "Dolomiti Superski" ski zone. Brunico also offers the Christmas markets from the end of November till the beginning of January; it takes place on the central street, famous for its old buildings and for shopping. In summer, Brunico is the ideal starting point for many hiking trips by foot and by mountain bike. If you are an extreme sport fans, you can reach Valle Aurina, the Mecca of extreme sports, comfortably from Brunico!

Gastronomic festivals Val Pusteria

Val Pusteria South Tyrol is the "green valley" par excellence, thanks to three natural parks. This valley is also very suitable for gourmets, as here take place many gastronomic festivals…also in winter. In Val Casies (German: Gseierstal) the "Canederli Marathon" takes place in January. The restaurant owners will cook many kinds of "canederli", (balls of bread, speck and lard) in salty or sweet versions. You can eat as much as you like of them, as Val Casies is famous for its Nordic ski fields…you´ll burn everything by skiing! Another gastronomic festival very popular among locals and tourists is the Chocolate Festival in Monguelfo, which takes place in September. You can taste many kinds of chocolate, but also looking at sculptors…carving true works of art in chocolate!
